Reuse & Repair

The most effective way to reduce waste is to prevent it in the first place. Reusing and repairing keep valuable materials in use longer, reduce the demand for new resources, and cut down on what ends up in landfills. By choosing to fix, share, and reuse items instead of throwing them away, communities can save money, build practical skills, and reduce environmental impacts.

At SWRC, we support Reuse & Repair initiatives across Saskatchewan by connecting people with programs, sharing practical resources, and advocating for systems that make it easier to extend the life of everyday items.

Saskatchewan has long been home to the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Swampy Cree, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota (Assiniboine), Saulteaux, and Dene First Nations. We recognize their traditional territories and the homeland of the Metis. Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council respectfully acknowledges the historic and ongoing care of these lands and stewardship of the environment. We are all beneficiaries of the Numbered treaties, and we reaffirm our relationship with one another.
