Warm Hearts - Jacket Repair Project
The Warm Hearts Jacket Repair Project is back for the 2025-2026 winter season in Saskatoon and Regina!
About The Project:
Warm Hearts is a community project, organized by Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council and presented by Affinity Credit Union, that gives gently-used winter jackets and outerwear a second life. By repairing and rehoming these items, we help keep people warm through the cold months while also diverting wearable clothing from the landfill.
We collect jackets and snow pants in need of repair through our partner drop-off locations. Volunteers then take the items home, mend them on their own time, and donate them to local organizations From there, the clothing is given out for free to people in need.
We are very thankful for the volunteers last winter who repaired 190 winter items, bringing our total to 824 over the last four years. Not only were these items diverted from the landfill, but they regained their value and were redistributed back into the community free of charge.
Drop-off jackets in need of repair:
Make sure jackets are CLEAN before dropping them off. Please be mindful that our volunteers have signed up to repair jackets, not launder them.
