The Two Twenty is now solar powered

Ninety solar panels on the roof of The Two Twenty now supply about 40 percent of the building's electricity. With a capacity of 27.5 kilowatts, it's the largest solar power installation in the Saskatoon Light and Power district.

The project is a partnership between the building's owner, Shift Development, and the SES Solar Co-op. The project also received financial support from Bullfrog Power and Affinity Credit Union.

Shift Development will pass the savings on its power bill on to the SES Solar Co-op. The SES Solar Co-op was established by the Saskatchewan Environmental Society in early 2015.  It’s an investment co-operative -- its members buy shares and their return on investment comes from the savings in electricity costs from the co-op's solar projects.

The Two Twenty is an office and co-working space that includes the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council offices, so now we can say we're 40 percent solar powered!
