Individual bins in North Battleford reduce waste AND recycling

Changes to North Battleford's garbage and recycling collection system have generated some surprising results. In May, the City switched from multi-family garbage bins and recycling depots to individual rollout bins for recycling and garbage. The bi-weekly collection service has resulted in a decrease in garbage and in recycling, in the 40-50 percent range.

City officials attribute the reduction to the inability of residents from outside NB to dump waste & recycling into communal containers. Full Story
