SWRC Update: What can you learn at the SWRC fall workshops?
Recycling markets have changed a lot in the last year, and we know that many of our members are facing big questions about the future of their landfills and recycling programs. The SWRC’s annual set of fall workshops, held in four locations around the province, are a great place to tackle some of these big questions together.
SWRC Fall Workshop Schedule
October 30 - Weyburn -- Travelodge Hotel
November 6 - Prince Albert -- Coronet Hotel (formerly the Travelodge)
November 14 - Kindersley -- Kindersley Inn
November 21 - Humboldt -- Bella Vista Inn
Hear from one of our long-time members, either Crown Shred and Recycling or Loraas Recycling, depending on which workshop you attend. They will be speaking directly to the issue of how the recent changes in recycling markets are affecting Saskatchewan. If you’ve got questions, this is an excellent opportunity to ask the experts.
Kelly Goyer from Multi Material Stewardship Western will also be at all four workshops to give an update on the Multi-Material Recycling Program.
And what about the tough stuff that we can’t recycle? The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment will have a representative present to give an update on the latest regarding a provincial Household Hazardous Waste program. There will also be an interactive session for idea exchange on managing and reducing tough to recycle materials.
Other information presented at the workshops includes an update from the Ministry of Environment Landfill section, transfer stations, setting up compost facilities and updates on programs local to each workshop.
Lunch is included, and some of the best conversations and connections happen over a meal – it’s Saskatchewan after all.
We can’t wait to see you in the fall to learn together, make connections and find new solutions that work right here at home.
