New B.C. Milk Container Recycling Program

British Columbians will soon have province-wide access to recycling services for used milk containers, thanks to a recent agreement between the British Columbia Dairy Council and Encorp Pacific ( Canada). Encorp Pacific ( Canada) is the stewardship agency for British Columbia’s non-alcoholic beverage manufacturers and distributors.

Under the program, consumers will be able to return plastic milk jugs and paperboard milk cartons to Encorp’s Return-It™ Depots throughout the province. The program is funded by the Dairy Council, which will pay Encorp Pacific for collection services. Consumers will not pay a deposit for the containers and consequently will not receive a refund when they return the containers to the Return-It™ Depots.
